Role Summary
Archbold Brown is seeking a new team member with at least 5 years experience, including project leadership, to join us in a contract role to support the design and delivery of upcoming projects. In this role, you will be leading projects alongside the directors through all stages of design, documentation and delivery and liaise with our collaborators including consultants, contractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
The project leader is a key role in the growth of our practice, increasing our architectural expertise and working with our collaborators. Archbold Brown believes that all parts of the project delivery cycle are design activities. As a client-facing team member there are both architectural and professional development opportunities available.
Your specific responsibilities include:
Upholding high standards of design, encompassing clarity and refinement of architectural expression in alignment with compliance, buildability, and efficient documentation.
Managing the successful delivery of projects, including client interactions, and managing sub-consultants and collaborators to meet project requirements within deadlines.
Collaborating with the design team and contractors during the design and construction phases of projects.
Familiarity with architectural project management, particularly alignment of resources with scope and fee, and project cashflows.

Skills and Experience
At least 5 years experience in the design, coordination and detailing of complex building designs - such as multi-storey steel and concrete structures, complex facade systems, and associated services coordination, as well as the procurement, shop drawing, and site observation phases of the same.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate with diverse design teams including within ECI and D&B processes.
Strong visual and verbal communication skills, including hand sketching, expressive and analytical 3D modelling (in any platform), and professional writing skills
NZ registered architect, LBP Design 3, or demonstration of equivalent skills and experience.
A high level of proficiency in Sketchup as a design and presentation tool is required. Proficiency in Layout is an advantage.
Experience in the use of Revit to create construction documentation to consent/IFC level.
High level of experience and familiarity with NZBC, relevant AS/NZS standards (e.g. 3604, 4121, 1170), NZCIC Guidelines etc
Familiarity, but not expertise, in BIM projects including advanced BIM coordination and delivery (i.e. >LOD300)
