Archbold Brown is led by Richard Archbold (Arch) and Mat Brown, two experienced architects who believe the role of the architect extends beyond design. We established the practice to provide clear, senior leadership on projects that demand careful judgement — where ambition, risk and complexity must be aligned rather than simply managed.

We work closely with our clients and consultant teams to set direction and keep projects on track as they evolve. That means listening carefully, defining the brief clearly, and making sure decisions stay aligned with the original goals. We contribute strong design thinking, but also practical oversight — bringing the right people together, weighing up trade-offs, and maintaining momentum from concept through to completion.

Our work is grounded in architecture, but our value often extends beyond a conventional project brief. Clients engage us for our judgement as much as our drawings — to test feasibility, manage design risk and solve complex problems within the realities of procurement and construction. We see architecture as the alignment of vision, risk, budget and outcome, and we apply that thinking wherever it is needed.
